About Us - The River Village

Welcome

Guests of the River Village are personally welcomed at the reception by the host Rupinder Singh and his family.

The River Village is surrounded by numerous places to relax. Be it a wellness day in one of the numerous spas in the area or a summer trip to the Bödelibad – the outdoor pool where you can stay until 9 p.m. in the evening!

So close, so green

Panoramic view of the Alps! Located in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and directly on the Aare, you are in the centre of Interlaken with a short walk from the River Village.

Room to breathe deeply

The architect Eduard Helfer was generous when building the motel in the 1950s. That's why all 25 rooms at the River Village are also equipped with a sofa corner and a kitchenette. Thanks to their size, the rooms are also suitable for families.

Your own four walls

Absolute privacy and plenty of space are offered by the 2.5-room apartment that the River Village has reserved for its guests. Almost like being at home – only better! Because the peace and quiet and the incomparable view of the Aare will be remembered for a long time.

Space and air for your vehicle

In the River Village, bikers and pleasure cyclists will find everything they need to maintain their two-wheeler. Tools and an air compressor are available as well as rooms with storage spaces (on request).

No car? No problem!

The River Village has its own shuttle bus with eight seats. We will be happy to pick you up from the train station or the landing site of your paragliding adventure.

A touch of India in the Oberland

The River Village's lounge will take you to faraway India. Comfortable seating and soft lighting invite you to take a breather after a day trip or to drink a nightcap before going to bed.

Space for 3 coaches

There are parking facilities for up to three coaches on the River Village grounds. Group or club trips are welcome! The site is privately owned, there is no through traffic.

Private parking for bicycles / cars

If you don't want to let your bike out of your sight, you are in good hands in one of our X rooms with your own bike rack. The entire area of the River Village is private with no through traffic or pedestrian traffic.

Endless outdoor fun

Over 10,000 kilometres of hiking trails and a large selection of bike trails will leave you spoilt for choice. The River Village is the ideal starting point for outdoor activities for the whole family.

Cool water, pure relaxation

Let your soul unwind and listen to the gentle murmur of the River Aare right outside your room. A relaxing walk along the riverside path brings harmony to mind and spirit and leads you straight into Interlaken.

Here, the chef cooks personally: Rupinder Singh prepares the traditional and authentic creations from the north and south of his home country India with a lot of heart and soul. If you like it hearty or European, you will of course also get your money's worth. By the way: The River Village Restaurant is one of the top two Indian restaurants in Interlaken!

In our restaurant, you can also enjoy an exquisite wine list featuring fine selections from Swiss wine-growing regions as well as from Austria, Spain, and Italy.
